This privacy notice aims to provide you with information on how BCS processes your personal data when you visit and use our website.

Data we collect about you
Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (known as anonymous data).
We may collect, use transfer and store the following personal data about you:
- Identity data (name, emails address);
- Organisation data (data relating to which school/organisation you work for);
- Data relating to your attendance at events organised by Barefoot;
- Technical data: includes internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform, and other technology on the devices you use to access our website;
- Usage data: includes information about how you use our website, products and services; and
- Marketing and communications data: includes your preferences in receiving marketing from Barefoot, our third parties and your communication preferences.
How your personal data is collected
We use different methods to collect data from and about you including through:
Direct interactions: In order to access our free materials, you need to complete a registration process. As part of the registration process you will give us your Identity data, Organisation data and data relating to your attendance at events organised by Barefoot.
Automated technologies or interactions: As you use our website, we will automatically collect Technical Data about your equipment, browsing actions and patterns. We collect this personal data by using cookies, server logs and other similar technologies. We may also receive Technical Data about you if you visit other websites employing our cookies. Third parties: We will receive personal data about you from various third parties as set out below:
- Analytics providers (such as Google);
- Advertising networks;
How we use your personal data
We use this information to provide you with access to our materials and carry out administration, statistical analysis and reporting on how our website is used.
We will only send you information by email if you have ticked the the ‘I would like to receive information and updates from Barefoot by email’ box during the registration process, or if you have requested a Barefoot workshop.
If you would like to update your preference or to unsubscribe, you can do so by logging in and going to ‘My Account Settings’. To unsubscribe, simply untick the ‘I would like to receive information and updates from Barefoot by email’ box.
How we share your personal data
Barefoot's resources play an integral part in supporting primary school teachers through the National Centre for Computing Education (NCCE) in England. This is managed by a consortium formed of BCS and its partners, STEM Learning Limited and Raspberry Pi Foundation (the “Consortium Partners”). BCS may be obliged to share your registration data and the date of events you may have attended with Consortium Partners in order to fulfil its legal obligations and to offer you additional professional development support and further resources to help you deliver first class computing education to your pupils. Such data will ultimately be shared with the Department for Education as part of the NCCE contractual commitments.
We do not share this information with anyone else who is not connected with Barefoot's activities or the NCCE.
For Barefoot's workshops we will send you materials, such as teacher packs, in the post. Your data will be shared with UPS or Royal Mail to facilitate the postage of such materials.
Your data will not be
- sold or passed on to any other third-party commercial organisation; or
- transferred outside the European Economic Area.
